July 9, 2024Jul 9 Hi Adriano We were using pro-stats. I completely forgot that we had to your plug-in/application installed – recent topics – and it was never configured and we weren't using it even though we had purchased it. After the recent IPS upgrade, the website became almost unusable because it went extremely slow. We discovered it was pro-stats causing the problem and we disabled it and the forum started to operate as normal. I have just realised that we had a copy of recent topics and so I decided to use that instead and it has had exactly the same effect. As soon as I enable it and configure it for moderator use only, it takes maybe a minute or two at least to refresh the site and the site becomes pretty well unusable. Interesting that by and large pro-stats and your plug-in are doing the same thing. Pro-stats was working perfectly before the IPS upgrade. I'm sure your recent topics one was also working perfectly but now we are having huge problems and I have had to disable it. Can you help please? As you can imagine, it is incredibly useful to have recent topics commonly displayed and regularly refreshed. Thanks Edited July 9, 2024Jul 9 by BankFodder

July 9, 2024Jul 9 No worries - it might need to be listed higher than other plugins in the list, not sure (haven't had a need to use it myself) Also, not 100% sure if whatever Matt is doing there has actually ended up in a release - last release note update for 4.7.17 was 29th May, Matt posted on 30th May indicating what he might do. July 9, 2024Jul 9 Thanks for this but I'm afraid it doesn't work. It may make a very slight difference – I'm not sure if it's my imagination but I'm afraid that with the recent topics application activated, the forum becomes pretty well unusable. Either the recent topics application or the pro-stats plug-in are really useful to us. It would be great if some upgrade would allow us to start using them again And by way: off topic – I don't seem to be receiving notifications about updates to this thread.
July 9, 2024Jul 9 – Here are some feature requests: It would be nice to choose, say, 10 new topics that have them in a scroll box so only maybe three appear. It will be nice simply to have the topic titles appearing without all of the other information. The idea is to try and keep it neat – informative at the top of the forum – but compact. Thanks

July 9, 2024Jul 9 I'm afraid I don't have your skills are your experience so I would know what to suggest. I was certainly hoping that maybe there could be some way of discovering what the problem is. It's causing the same issue on our test site as well as our live site but if there is some basic incompatibility and there is nothing to be done.
