Videos Directory

This application will give users the ability to create records from their preferred videos from YouTube (including regular and short videos), Vimeo and Dailymotion, or even upload videos. The application automatically retrieves video thumbnails so all you need to do is enter the video title, paste the URL, and optionally add a description – that's it.

Key features of this application include:

1. Integrated to YouTube Data API to grab data from videos via search to add them quickly.
2. Two options to choose how the index will look like: Blocks or Tabs.
3. Two options to choose how the videos will be displayed in the index: Grid or Carousel.
4. Unlimited categories with support for unlimited parent-child relationships.
5. Customizable category icons.
6. Flexible options to enable comments and reviews system per category.
7. Ability to add polls to videos.
8. Extra Fields group that can be used per category.
9. Additional Videos: videos added within a video.
10. Profile tab to display the videos submitted by the profile owner.
11. Thumbail management.
12. Several places to display advertisements.

Other features:

• Integrated with the framework, including features such as search, tags, follow functionality, reactions, and more.
• Integration to RSS/Atom Feed Imports.
• Support to Rest API
• Support to Webhooks
• Tool to import video records from the Videos application from Mike. J.

What's New in Version 1.0.1:

New Features:

• Add the ability to add advertisements in the following places:
  • Index: Above the featured video
  • Index: Below the featured video
  • Index: At the bottom of the page
  • Category view: Above the video listing
  • Category view: Below the video listing
  • Video View: above the video
  • Video View: below the video
• Add a tool to import video records from the Videos app by Michael.J
  • Choose a source category from the other Videos app and a category from the Videos Directory app and it will import the videos.
  • This tool DOES NOT take into account the extra videos (videos added within a video); they WILL NOT be imported.

The Remove thumbnail option will display the default NO THUMBNAIL image:

 

The same image will be displayed across the application if a video thumbnail can't be retrieved for any reason.

The "Change Author" under Edit options was a feature we used to use a fair bit too.

Another suggestion, what about a Videos tab on user profiles showing which videos the user has uploaded?

The way it is now it's more like the IPS way to do it in their apps.

I'll leave the new version for tomorrow. I'm working on a nice thing but couldn't finish it yet.

It's done. Additional Videos will allow you to add up to 5 videos within the main video:

 

Clicking in the MANAGE ADDITIONAL VIDEOS (blue) button will list the videos "appended" to the main video:

With the import @Adriano, do you select "import" or "link"?

• Fix database issues with a couple of new columns (missing default values).

I had to fix an error on @Emediate's site related to reviews, so I took the opportunity to change the way a video record is displayed when the video URL is not accessible, for any reason (video removed, private, etc.):

I also added an index of letters in the category view to filter by the first letter of the video title:

 

There's a new setting to enable/disable the index of letters.

I haven't yet cheecked, does it still work with badges? We had a Multimedia Poster badge that was tied to the old Videos app.

Can the Categories sidebar work on the Videos index AND in the video pages themselves?

It is already compatible with the default actions/rules, like X videos posted, comment, reviews, etc.

Suggestions for Video Directory

* Some sort of reorder on , Featured, category, latest, most viewed. etc
* Tabbed video landing page for categorys
* Listing , choose the amount of videos , Columns . the more columns you choose the thumbnails automatic smaller . 
* integration with landing page app
* integration with enchanged event app, Add video to event, use a video as eventphoto as well
