Videos Directory

This application will allow users to create records from their preferred videos on YouTube (including regular and short videos), Vimeo, and Dailymotion, or even upload videos. The application automatically retrieves video thumbnails, so all you need to do is enter the video title, paste the URL, and optionally add a description—that's it.

Key features of this application include:

  1. Integrated with YouTube Data API to grab data from videos via search to add them quickly.

  2. Two options to choose how the index will look like: Blocks or Tabs.

  3. Unlimited categories with support for unlimited parent-child relationships.

  4. Customizable category icons.

  5. Flexible options to enable a comments and reviews system per category.

  6. Ability to add polls to videos.

  7. Extra Fields group that can be used per category.

  8. Additional Videos: videos added within a video.

  9. Profile tab displays the videos submitted by the profile owner.

  10. Thumbail management.

  11. Several places to display advertisements.

Other features:

  • Integrated with the framework, including features such as search, tags, follow functionality, reactions, and more.

  • Integration to RSS/Atom Feed Imports.

  • Support for Rest API

  • Support for Webhooks

Settings:

  • Settings to control the application behavior in several places/situations.

Note:

  • This version does not include a converter for the old Videos application by Mike J. It will be reworked and added in a future update.

@Square Wheels

All the items above are fixed, and the app is updated here on this site. Please test it one more time.

The category TEST does not require approval of new videos. TEST COPY does. Post videos in both to test it.

Thank you.

Seems to be working well.

Hi, this is a great app!!

The thumbnail for youtube shorts is not showing. Regular youtube videos do show it.

Screenshot 2025-05-03 at 6.37.38.png

Tried the tool to rebuild thumbnails but no luck.

tried installing latest version of the video app on latest v5 site

getting a 500 error with following error in server logs

[STDERR] PHP Fatal error: Declaration of IPS\videosdirectory\_Application::get__icon() must be compatible with IPS\Application::get__icon(): string in /applications/videosdirectory/Application.php on line 30\n

am using PHP Version 8.1.31

any thoughts on how to get past the 500 error?

No error in the marketplace file. That's exactly how it shows in your error:

	protected function get__icon() : string
	{
		return 'play';
	}

To make sure, I just installed it here: https://www.sosinvision.com.br/index.php?/videosdirectory/

If you have FTP, open the file in the error and add : string after the get__icon().

Also, it is Application and not _Application!

Make sure you're uploading the right .tar file.

looks like the video app is knocking the api out

was getting this when trying to view api logs to track down a api error

[STDERR] PHP Fatal error: Declaration of IPS\videosdirectory\api\categories::_createOrUpdate(IPS\Node\Model $node) must be compatible with IPS\Node\Api\NodeController::_createOrUpdate(IPS\Node\Model $node): IPS\Node\Model in html/applications/videosdirectory/api/categories.php on line 109\

I disabled the video app and the api works

It looks like it is still using IPS4 templates. I’m not sure how the IPS cache works or what they did to fix your mistake but it obviously isn’t like this.

Rebuild your cache.

I did. No change. Should I uninstall and reinstall? Will I loose my data?

That's what I've told here:

That's not a problem with my app. It's something on your install.

Try IPS. Say that apps are showing more than once on the Applications page, and you're getting a message of already installed even after uninstalling an app.

When you go to a Tag page, videos don't show thumbnails. Not sure if it a configuration on my side or the way the app is configured.
