Contact Us


This application will replace the standard Contact Us form from IPS 4.

Features:

  • Ability to use Departments, which are permission based, so you can choose which user groups can use each department.
  • Ability to send to everyone in any group by department
  • Ability to add several emails by department
  • Post topic to forum by department (Forums required)
  • Create a support ticket (Commerce required)
  • Ability to add Extra Fields to the form and choose its position (before or after regular fields)
  • Custom email template

This contact form solved my spam problems. The IPS form was giving me tons of spam, but Contact Us, with the captcha and a little bit of tweaking has brought my spam to a standstill!! Thank you Adriano.

What's New in Version 1.4.0:

  • Added a new setting to determine if the application will be accessible when the board is offline
  • Added a new setting to determine if Guests can use the application even when they can't access the board

This application works fine when installed on IPS Version 4.7.10

It creates a menu item where you can assign permissions:

Only one "Contact Us" shows up at the bottom of the page:

The Contact Us page displays without error:

If you installed the application on Version 4.7.10 and updated it to subsequent builds it continues to work as expected.  Unfortunately, if you install a fresh version after 4.7.10 the application no longer works as expected.

The menu option does not display permissions:

Clicking on the top menu ”Contact Us” or either of the other (2) Contact Us at the bottom generates an error:

Adriano,

Can departments be made to contact only a certain email?

Currently, I have 3 departments setup and for some reason each of them will get the same message even though the attended target would have been only a single one.

 To explain more clearly.

Say, I have these departments.

Owner, Site Support, and Inquiries.

Owner > owner@domain
Site Support > support@domain [then any individual emails.]
Inqurires > asl@domain

If someone currently contacts the owner, the other departments will get that email.

Also, when I respond in my email client, the person's email has to be added manually. Otherwise, I am responding to every department the email was sent to event though it should only be to one, then responding back to the person.

Could it be changed so that only the department emails are contacted, unless setup otherwise? Along with having a fix to reply to the person's email, rather than myself?

I think it would make better sense.

Not now. Maybe for IPS5. I really don’t like to change the whole behavior of something due to a request only. People are used to it as this has been like that since version 1.

Let’s see if this get any traction.
